OpenOffice.org & help - participating in translation

OpenOffice.org is a free software office suite, incuding wordprocessor (OOo Writer), spreadsheet (OOo Calc), presentation (OOo Impress) and more. The program can load most of the Microsoft Office documents.

My work

I participated in the "translation-weekends" in cooperation with the more than 100 people from Hungary. We have completed the GUI translation and translated most of the help text using a great web interface.

Details

The software and help text localization is maintained by FSF.hu. After the initial translation of the software it was proofread by a translator company, thus any local user can be sure the system is reliable in cosistent language usage, even if the 23000 strings have been translated by so many people.
